Well, just ran into a itty bitty problem. Not sure if all 8 modules will fit in the driver's side front door. One module for up, one for down times 4 (number of windows) makes for 8 rather large modules. Anyone know if I have space?

Price break down:
ARE LSII - $930 with electric lock
Painted Mirrors: $250
Painted Handels: $575 (includes tailgate handel too)
Parts for Power Mirrors: $320
Parts for One touch up/down windows: who knows...trying to find a junk yard to tear them out of windows. 8 modules for drivers door, and 2 each for other 3 doors...means 14 total...plus four for power mirrors...so 18 total...geese that's a lot, can't believe you need one module each way. Only a couple bucks each at the junk yard.
Labor for install on Power Mirrors and one touch windows: Still negotiating. We're thinking 4 hours. So $75 x 4 = $300

Total project estimated: $1,800

I'm going to find the modules first and give it a try on the rear doors myself. If I can get those to work then I save around $100 for install.

I just stopped by a local body shop and asked about painting my handle buckets (going to get chrome handles) and my FX4 grill. He gave me a price of $200 if i brought the parts in to him. Your quote sounds a little high to me.

Yeah and I'm not going through the pain in the but process of taking apart my doors. I'm afraid of messing up the panels...I have no clue how to take them off.

Anyone done the one touch up/down themselves successfully? How does it work?

I had my mirrors painted on my 2001 King Ranch. The key is sanding the "nubs" on the black plastic down enough to get good adhesion. I wasn't going to try these pieces myself, since the bug guts tend to cause paint problems. Mine have held up for about 2 years so far with no problems (knock on wood). Couldn't tell you the price though, as I had a friend do them and many other items at the same time.

There is alot of room behind the door panels. You should be ok as long as the modules are thin.

Hey Trev,

How easy are they to remove? Have you done it, and if so how? I just don't want to start pulling and break tabs and then really do myself in.

Thanks,

Duke

I'm new to this group but I thought I might chime in ...
I really wanted to get my mirrors smoothed and painted until I was told it would be $300.00 I was told it is a LOT of work.
So, for now I'm not doing it. You price of $250 is better than what I was quoted and I was supplying the paint !!!

Hope that worked !!

Removing the door panels is relatively easy. You just need your whole socket set as there are a few different sized bolts. If you do a search in the forums you will find the door removal intructions for our trucks.
