Low Fuel Message Center Warning???
BigTRQ - It’s really true that I average ~425 per tank. I live in Houston, TX which is mostly flat land and most of my daily driving is at highway speed with very few stops. I can run about 2 weeks between fill-ups.
RockyJSquirrel – Yes I mean the light on my dash is not enough because I DON’T HAVE ONE. As I mentioned in my previous post (go ahead and read that now, I will wait for you) the ONLY warning that I receive is the “LOW FUEL” message on the mini message center (also on page 4 of my Owner’s Guide) which is often obscured buy the spoke of the steering wheel. I DO however have a lighted indicator for Service, Battery, Engine, Brake, ABS, Seatbelt, Airbag, Door Ajar, High Beams, and Speed Control. But alas there is NO light on my instrument panel nor do I recall an audible warning when the level in the tank reaches the set point for low fuel.
As to your condescending remarks, I routinely look at my instrument panel to monitor speed, temp., r.p.m. and yes, fuel while driving. However while operating in dense, heavy traffic in Houston I find it best to concentrate on the vehicles around me to avoid sheet metal showers rather than focus on the instrument panel. Just a little something that I picked up during my 8 years working with aircraft in the Army.

It's just plain stupid that you need a 50 mile 1/4 tank warning. They should not be giving us that. Uhhh, let me know if someone learns how to reset it or turn it off....without filling up the tank, those of you smartasses who were thinking that as you were reading!

Well this is the first time I've had my truck till I got to only 1/4 tank of gas left so I don't know what to expect. Does anyone get a warning from the message center thing that says Low Fuel Warning or something to that extent. I got it when I had a 1/4 of gas left and it keeps coming back and I have at least another 50 miles left on the tank. It makes no sense, that's plenty of gas. Anyone else get this?

I guess the question is "how empty should it be before a warning"?
