Factory splash guards
extra hole...
I got some black RTV silicone and filled the extra hole with it after I got the rear splash guards installed. You cant even tell where the holes were now.
petersde, yours are the ones I was talking about. They look great! Thanks for posting those pics. I bet RP will like them.

I put factory splash guards on my FX4, and there was at least one body hole that didn't have a cooresponding hole in the splash guard. I mounted the flap with all but that screw, then I bent a finish nail 90 degrees, held the head with pliers, heated the tip with a propane torch, and used the hot nail to melt a hole in the plastic splash guard by sticking the hot tip thru the hole in the metal from the back side. Left a nice smooth hole, perfectly aligned with the hole in the metal, with no damage to the painted metal.
Overkill? Probably, but actually not hard, and it only took a second.

Anyone thought of painting the OEM splash guards to the color of their truck? I think I'm going to get OEM splash guards and have them painted black to match the truck...just don't like the plasticky look of them. I have the Ford OEM tubular running boards, I know you said they don't fit with panel boards. But what about tubular?
I installed the molded splash guards on my 4x4 about 6 months ago, and the rear ones have already been torn off. IMO, the Ford design does not support the entire splash guard enough to withstand the weight of the mud or slush/snow that builds up on them.
