acceleration lag??

I got a small problem with my acceleration tonite. After retuning my pcm this past friday, ive had a little bit of acceleration lag when shifting between 2nd and 3rd at wot. I was racing my buddies tahoe tonite after work, and i had less than a quarter tank of gas so i dont think it was anything with getting fuel to the injectors. I was thinking maybe my computer still trying to reset itself or just needing a special tune. any suggestions

How did you re-tune your PCM?

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the fuel being the culprit here. When I got my custom tuner from Troyer, there is a warning in the instructions about taking car not to do WOT runs with less than a half tank of gas. You fuel may have sloshed to the back of the tank away from the pickup, and may have gotten a little lean condition on the upshift. I could be wrong, but I may be right. Hope I could help!

k, you may have me there....im not so knowledgeable about specific terms. When i said retune the pcm...i meant just give the truck a reflash with my tuner. sorry if i said something in the wrong. also, the gas may be it as i kind of had that in the back of my mind. But i dont want to be carrying around a full tank of gas trying to light people up....i wonder if there is a solution???:santa:

btw, thanks for the help

You didn’t say anything-wrong bluehosefb90; I just didn’t understand what you meant, thanks for the clarification.

Less than ¼ tank of fuel is not enough to go racing. You need a ½ tank minimum as roboots21 stated. Just re-flashing the PCM won’t cause lag, I change my programs occasionally and have never experienced any lag. What about your fuel filter? You should replace it at 15,000 miles with a Motorcraft FG986B. WOT demands a lot of fuel and a partially clogged fuel filter can’t deliver

check this out; 15,000 miles on it
