Shouldn't be. If anything, soldered splices are safer than crimp splices. Properly done, there is no chance of a bad connection...Kevin

Yes, you can solder them just make sure your factory plug is unplugged are you could blow some fuses. Don't ask me how I know.

Yoman,

Your truck should have come with a wiring adapter in your glove box to connect an electric brake controller to your truck. The plug is underneath your dash just to the right of the steering column. I used 3M fail-safe splices to connect the controller wires to the Ford Supplied wiring adapter. Now, if I need to take the controller out, all I have to do is unplug it from the dash connection.

Good luck.

Most older Fords that trailer brake stays on when the truck is off. Then your trailer is sitting there humming when you have it parked. On the new truck when you install that trailer brake, they give you the relay. If you plug the relay in, then the brake operates with the truck. At least thats how I think it works. My buddy thought it was pretty cool. He wired a toggle switch so he could shut his off when he was out of the truck. Good luck, very easy install!!
