Need you opinions before I lay down the cash!

My newly ordered 2005 F150 SuperCrew arrived several days ago. After test driving for two days I noticed two issues.

1) Whine noise seems to be coming from the rear end during acceleration between 25-40 mpg.
2) Sliding rear windows rattles while open and driving.

I went back to the dealer and spoke with the owner yesterday and said I would not buy until these problems were fixed. I'm not that concerned about the rear window rattle, this is easy to fix per the TSB. I had this done on my 2004.

But how concerned should I be about their ability to permanantly fix the rear end whine? I've done many searches on the whine, some get fixed and others have become so frustrated they went to DSB or dealer buy back.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'd by that truck in a second, even with a whine. Hell, I'd kill for the 25-40 mpgs you claim! Take that Prius owners!

I wonder if this is a 2004 vs. 2005 rear end whine......

Why do I say that? Because my 2005 doesn't whine. period. Other than a rattle/squeal coming from the left side of the dash (that I think is related to my alarm install), the only problem I have is 13.99 mpg.

So maybe after fixing all those 2004 with this whine, they can easily fix the whine on this one.

What's wrong with the 2004 truck you have now? You getting rid of it, or just buying a second truck?

I made the mistake of letting my wife drive the 2004. She fell in love with it. I said she could have it but there is no way I would be driving her Honda Oddessey. So I ordered a 2005 with all the options I wanted.

No. Nothing in the bed, completely stock.

Once I buy it first mods are Bedrug and an Undercover.

Okay. I ask because I once had a creaky rear window that only made racket while open, only to find that my spray-in bedliner was rubbing at the tailgate.
