Caution: spare tire access lock
Caution: spare tire access lock
I can't believe I'm sharing this with you guys, but for the sake of helping others:
You know that keyed lock near the rear license plate that plugs the access hole to the spare tire winch? Yeah, well when you remove that lock DON'T set it on the bumper, forget it's there, and then lower the tailgate. If you do, it will put two nice little dents in your tailgate.
Now I would never do something that silly, but this guy I know *cough, cough* did. It cost him $80 for paintless dent repair.
I know, I know, not a very smart thing to do. It was dark, I was in a hurry. It's an $80 lesson and I bet I don't do it again. DOH!!

Once upon a time...
This happened a while back after someone got a flat on the side of the road, he left it there. Went back and no luck. But lesson learned!
