Are there any fixes to improve gas mileage for the 4.6L or 5.4L XLT's??

Exhaust?

Air Intake?

Chips?

Any help from Ford on this?

 

Oh for the love of Pete. Use the SEARCH button!!! This has been beaten to death and your sure to catch plenty-o-flames for purchasing a near 3 ton vehicle then crying about the milage. And if you dump all that money into mods to get a 1-2mpg increase it will take years to recoup your losses in mods. Plus with all those mods your performance will increase and you'll be mashing the gas to the floor more often to enjoy the sound and feel of your new truck and your milage will just plummet even more than if you left your stock. Kapeesh?

 

I noticed the brake arm on my brake pedal has surface rust on it, also on the back side of the interior door handles seem to have the same surface rust on them. Is there a fix, tsb or recall for these items?

Get a Tonneau Cover, if you don't have one already.

I second getting the tonneau. I have a brand new one for sale.

 

drive like granny, do only highway mileage and never take passengers or cargo.

these beasts are hard on gas. not too much can help that.

 

your better off spending that money on gas rather than mods..

I welcome you also...Well, not all of us are bastards. I am, though, FYI. If the truck is new, the mileage should improve...Mine did...also am running full-synthetic motor oil...seems to help a bit. I haven't done anything else. What really made the difference, though, is pushing my truck up hills. A little slow, but I get a great workout.
