Well first off, welcome to the sight. Second, if you dont post some pics soon, you will be badgered to death around here. Now to answer your question, Ive been thinking the same thing my self and decided to get the tuner first. Only because IMO..it is the best bang for the buck between the two. I dont have either one right now, but talkin to everyone here, it seems the tuner is the way to go, and then the AF1 intake. Look for the thread on that, RP has a great write up on it. Good luck with your mods and lets see those pictures..

Im 16 too. I broke my back and my foot and selling my bikes to get a lift and wheels/tires, and some other stuff. As of right now I just have a 2.5" leveling kit, tint, new headunit, G.A.P. grille, and chrome door handles.

I know your fear....

I had a 2001 King Ranch that I had modded on the exterior but, absolutely no mods in the way of performance.

Now, with my 05' KR, I've decided I'm going to try to get a mix of both 'appearance mods' and 'performance mods'.

Thus far I've added (performance):

1. XCalibrator
2. Magnaflow SISO 16612
3. Air Force One Intake

Easily, the best bang for your buck here is the XCalibrator from Troyer Performance. My truck turned into a different beast after installation. Second in line, like Thump mentioned, is my AF1. It's a tremendous intake....

Now that I've modded on the performance side, I'm kicking myself for not having done it to my old 5.4 Triton on my old 01'. I never knew driving a truck could be this much fun...

best bang for the buck is gears.

most will say the chip, but once you factor in the cost of 93 octane fuel over a few years, the gears end up being cheaper.

The Xcalibrator with the Troyer Performance custom tunes is my 1st pick for "bang for the buck". Second for me would be the Magnaflow exhaust because I don't have the AF1 intake yet and can't compare the two. Third is a draw between Efans and under drive pulleys although the pullies are cheaper.

Gotta agree with the Xcalibrator. Really wakes these trucks up.
