Question Access Lorado or Truxedo Lo Pro????

Okay okay. I know this is a Ford site and you guys would probably believe I should cover more than the bed of my Chevy, but as I've said before I value your opinions. Looking at installing a soft tonneau on my crew and I was wondering who has experiences with either the Lorado or the Truxedo Lo Pro They look very comparable and are priced nearly the same so..... which one or does it matter? The Truxedo seems to have a little better warranty. Any advice or experiences appreciated.

Thanks

If the quality is comparable go with the lo-profile one. The only thing I don't like about my access cover is that it looks like it sits too high off the bedrails.

I have the Truxedo Lo-Profile and would definitely recommend it.

Truxedo

I just installed the Truxedo Lo Profile. No experience with the other. It is less than an inch higher than the bedrails. I am very pleased with it so far.

Nice truck taterthedog. The more I read and shop prices, the more it looks like I'll be going with the Truxedo. BTW nice setup with the cargo net (I was looking in your gallery) and cross piece inside the bed (piece of painted lumber?) . I think I may be stealing some of your ideas. Again thanks.

I have the Access Lorado low profile and I am pleased with it. A couple of things I prefered with it over the Truxedo was they have a new seal that is placed in the front of the bed so dirt and water stay out. The other part that I didn't like on the Truxedo was the metal latch/lever to release the cover. I could see this getting in my way when loading and unloading things in there. The Access has a little pulley strap to release.

I think the Truxedo actually sits a hair lower than the Lorado, but I have had 3 Access covers before this Lorado so I stuck with what I knew I liked. Part of me wishes I would have tried the Truxedo for comparison reasons, but I decided to stick with what I was familiar with.

I think they are both pretty similar though, and you can't go wrong either way.

I do have a question for those Truxedo Lo-Prof owners though, do you have much movement in the cover at highway speeds? That is my only complaint about the Lorado is that it seems to have more movement than I remember my regular Access covers having.

I have the Truxedo Lo-Pro. This is the best soft tonneau that I have ever had. Had 8 inches of wet snow on it during the winter and it didn't sag. Also, if you use the bed in the winter, the Truxedo doesn't shrink so it's not a porblem closing it back up like other tonneaus that I have had.

Hey Cincy150,

I'm from Cincinnati as well. Colerain area to be exact. I would really like to see your Truxedo cover in person, before deciding between purchasing it and the Extang RT.

Where did you get it from and how much did you have to pay?

What part of Cincy are you from?

Thanks again for the opinions guys. I had the Truxedo installed today. Came home in a downpour and only had a couple of drops of water near tailgate. Now that's its on the truck I can say it looks awesome. If it looks that good on my Chevy imagine what it can do with an F-150.

BTW: super nice truck Cincy F150
