Now I know what it's like!!!

to have a vibration free truck. I got my truck back after 8 days in the shop. It was in for the bed recall, a vibration problem and my rear sliding window was rattling/squeeking.

Recall was the first to be done and then the tech confirmed I actually had a vibration and the rear window rattled. He orders a new driveshaft and upper window channel. The service advisor calls me and says that the driveshaft didn't eliminate the vibration but helped and now would like to to send my tires out for road force balancing.

Next call from the service advisor is stating two of the tires failed and they have two new tires coming. Now the final call comes saying my truck is ready for pickup and all fixed. Being on this board enough, I'm really skeptical its "really" fixed.

The ride home was absolutly amazing, I couldn't get this grin off my face the whole way. Nothing but smooth, and the best part was no annoying rear window rattle. What an amazing difference. Now I can honestly say this is one of the best trucks I have ever been in hands down.

A++++ for a wonderful experience with my dealer....except one small downside, when they were mounting my 2 new tires, they chiped some paint off when removing the old wheel weight. Would I be out of line to ask them to give me a bottle of touch up paint for it?

No, just be nice about it. Go back and rave about how nice it rides now and just ask for a little bottle of touchup paint for that chip....they should be understanding.

It’s great to hear that your vibe problem got fixed; now you can enjoy your truck.

Out of curiosity, what tires do you have, or had? Size and make?

I have the General tires on the 17" aluminum rims. When I first bought the truck it had a noticable vibration, but I thought it was just from sitting for so long...WRONG. 1,500 miles later I decided to rotate the tires and the vibration wasn't nearly as bad, but defenilty not gone.

Now at 5,500 miles and 2 replaced tires, I am just so amazed how well this truck really rides.

holy crap!!!!

who is your service advisor? than man/woman should be made a saint! No really. They called you more than once with an update. hey tried multiple fixes in the same visit.

You don't know how lucky you are. May with the vibe had to take their trucks in too mny times with no fix and advisors that didn't give a rat's a$$ if it got fixed or not.

Please post the name of your dealer. This sounds like someone that would look after your fellow F150online members.

Congrats, I know the feeling, got mine back last friday, no more rear end shutter, and no more truck shake when applying the brakes. It feels like a brand new truck.

You guys aren't kidding. I'm telling you I was all ready for them to come back and tell me its normal for a truck yada yada yada, and when she tells me the tech heard and felt both my problems I was very glad. Even more glad when she says he tried the driveshaft but wasn't satisfied the vibe was completely gone and then bought me two new tires. Total of the visit was $1,300 under warrenty of course, and I walked out a happy camper.

The dealership is Dayton Ford in central NJ. Not only did I get a smoking deal on the new truck but my service experience so far has been very good as well.

On a side note, I think my rear window squeek is back on bumpy backroads, but right now I could care less cause the ride is just so dam good
