DDX7015 installed today
I installed the kenwood 7015 today, well almost finished it. I still have to install the pac swi-x. Install was pretty straight forward. I took it out for a test drive and it played the DVD while I was driving, I must have "accidentally" ground it to the wrong place.
A few questions though. Did everyone use the plastic brackets that came with the kit, they seem a little flimsy. And what trim piece did you use: the one that came with the head unit, or the one that came with the install kit?

If you look in the dash you will see where the factory head unit had a bolt/nipple that rested in a metal ring. Since the unit is so heavy I thought it would be good to have some just like this for my aftermarket.
I bought a long bolt and some thick plastic tubing. Feed the tube onto the bolt and trimmed off the end. Screwed it into the back of the DDX7015 unit. The tubing keeps the bolt from clanking. You can see there is a treaded hole back there. This work great. Let me know if you need more details.

Also, I notice a pop everytime i turn the HU on?? Its starting to get on my nerves. I hooked up the blue amp turn on wire fom the head unit to the metra harness (small square) Blue wire amp wire (there were 2 but only 1 was wired on Ford's side). I don't know if you ran into this problem but if not, maybe someone else knows the remedy?
Thanks!!!
