Will folding mirror wear out?

I know, everything will wear out eventually but what I am asking is am I being foolish to fold my driver's side mirror repeatedly as it makes it much easier to move in my narrow garage/pull out etc. ?

Thanks!

Steve

It might eventually wear out if you keep the truck long enough but I wouldn’t worry about it. You bought your truck to use, so take full advantage of all the options NOW

Maybe someday BUT as long as you fold it in and out slowly it
should be fine, I folded the one on my Jeep everyday for 5 yrs and
it still had its same taughtness when I traded it. I now fold this one the same way every day assuming all will be fine..

I worry about this as well but on my power folding mirrors... that little motor in there sounds like it's giving birth every time I fold them in and out.

I drive my truck everyday... is it foolish? I know it will just wear out but...

Seriously... fold that mirror in/out as many times as your little heart desires.

Drive your truck every other day and it’ll last twice as long

It'll surely wear out if you do what I did (almost ). I got in the truck and unfolded the mirror before backing out of the garage . Luckily, I caught my mistake just before it hit the door frame.

I never leave the house now unless I've had a couple O' shots of black coffee.
