A/C Clutch

OK, before you tell me to search the threads, I have, and I see that I should expect the clutch engage on my A/C to be loud. However, here's a new wrinkle. At interstate speeds, each time I hear the A/C clutch engage, I can feel the truck lurch very slightly. Not like it's dying or anything, just a very slight little "bump". I cannot get the truck to do this without the A/C on, and the lurch is always accompanied by the clutch engage sound. The real kicker is I cannot "see" the lurch on my tach or speedo. My wife thinks I am crazy, as she could not feel it in the passenger seat. Please help, has anyone else noticed this little hiccup. My truck has 1500 miles on it.

I would think this is normal. I turned mine on yesterday for the first time since last summer and when it engaged I was like ...

I wouldn't panic to much. I'm sure others will chime in shortly.

Perfectly normal pigg. At highway speeds the tranny's all locked up and engine rpm's are not that high. What your feeling is the slight momentary power drag while it spins up the compressor to engine speed. No worries!

That's good to hear! I have a tendency to overthink things like that...
Other than that, this truck is AWESOME. It's my 2nd F-150, and I absolutely love it.

Thanks again guys.

Your A/C may be slightly undercharged. Unless you're running the fan on low with the temperature set to it's coldest and on recirc, the compressor shouldn't be cycling a lot going down the road.
