parking brake to floor

so...anybody used their parking brake?mine goes way down to floor, depite new pads. think this might have anything to do with soft brakes?was launching the boat and applied park brake and it just had to be pressed and pressed. is there an adjustment?

Try applying it several times. Most E-brakes are self adjusting with a ratchetting mechanism on the cables where it splits going to each wheel, I have never even used mine but that's the way the cars I work on are.

New pads won't do it.

The e-brake is actually a drum brake inside the rear rotor. Check cable and make sure it's mounted properly.

haha, had the same problem on my tahoe, brakes have nothing to do with it. the problem most likely is the cable. you need to tighten the cable. its like a bike break cable, the tighter you make the cable, the less you have to squeez to apply the break, and visa versa, or in your case it is to the flore and nothing is really happening.

the rear e-brake shoes need to be adjusted correctly just like rear drum brakes, if they are not the e-brake pedal will go to the floor.

Mac.
