Fog light wiring?

i have my body kit coming which replaces the front bumper cover. my truck does not currently have foglights, so i picked some up on ebay. they look like the right shape and size, but they have a black outline. the description said for expedtion/f150 and i am assuming they will fit and use the same harness.

i looked under my truck and dont see any wiring for foglights. my question is, can i run my own wiring with a relay and fuse? or do i have to buy a factory harness? if i can rig it up, what rated fuse and relay should i use? i dont feel like shelling out a ridiculous amount for the harness, but the lights have the little female connectors and i wouldnt know how to connect them...

if i absolutely have to buy the harness, where could i find one?

thanks for any help

If you do not have an OE harness down there, wiring it up is still a simple process. Those foglights use a 9006 connector. If you make a relay harness which is trigered by your parking lamp circuit or a seperate switch, it will work fine.
Just use the parking circuit or switch to trigger the relay which switches battery power (fused) to each 9006 connector they will light right up.

do you happen to know which wire behind the lisght switch panel is for the parking lamps? ir was the brown on my '01.

sorry to say you will need the stock oem bumper, your kit is only a cover for the OE bumper.

9005 and 9006 use the same connector.
It would be easiest to tap the parking circuit at the signal lamp inside the headlight asembly. Just tap or splice the wire going to that bulb to trigger the relay.
As for fitting the fogs into the bumper, if yours dont have holes from the factory, you will have to cut ones for mounting the new ones through the cover.

crap your right... i guess i was thinking that the new cover would replace the old one and would have its own mounts for the foglights... but i found these instructions...

since i will have to cut the chrome bumper anyway, i guess i could cut the holes for the foglights and rig up some kind of bracket to hold the in place. other than the foglight holes, are the two oem bumpers the same size and shape? they looks the same to me...

i could always buy a new bumper with foglights, but i dont wanna spend $400 bucks on a bumper just to tear it apart with a sawzall..
