Former '04 Lightning owner...
And proud new '04 FX4 owner!
Well...it's close to new anyways...I traded the Lightning in on something a little more practical (I can hear the comments now) and less expensive. The insurance and monthly payment were killing me and but I still wanted a 5.4 and needed 4X4 for these crappy winters. I called the stealer and they had some '04's on the lot and quoted me $10K off of the sticker over the phone. I thought it could only get better! Then the lying a deceit began. Once I made it to the dealership, Schrier Ford (Omaha, Ne.) played it off as though they wouldn't or couldn't have said that over the phone. The very same salesman I talked to on the phone denied quoting me that initial price. I guess I'm the liar...Also, being active duty Air Force, I wanted to take advantage of the $500 military rebate. They weren't aware of that rebate and went further to say it didn't exist for the '04 F150. Wrong...
Enough of that dealership.
I went to Atchley Ford here in Omaha and had the deal I was looking for in less than 2 hours. I picked up a program '04 FX4 with Audiophile upgrade, Bedrug, moonroof and all of the other bells and whistles for less than $25K. There was even money left over for some American Racing 20's!
I'll have pictures of her all dressed up within the next few days as long as the rain stays away...
She needs a billet grille too. Any suggestions out there?
Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the encouragement!
(I thought for sure I'd get a rash of sh*t for trading in a Lightning.)
I should have ridden through the other dealership's lots to rub it in huh? Like they say...Sh*t or get off the pot...The other dealerships could've gone to the same lengths the final one did to sell to me but they didn't. It just proves the fact that as a consumer, keep looking for the best deal. It will become available if you're eyes are open.
My new FX4 was a program/demo vehicle and only had 9500 miles on her. Now it's my turn to add some mileage.
These things ride like Cadillacs compared to my L!
Pics coming soon...

Welcome to this side Spacy,
Just don't let the L crowd know. They're sure to torch ya...Kevin
Almost forgot. Carriage Works seem to be the grille of choice for most.

Congrats on the truck!!! You will enjoy it.
There seem to be a lot more grill choices now. I went with Carriage Works but I know that Stull has one as well and I saw a really cool one in the local shop that is all stainless with chromed front edges but do not know who makes it...
