toyo mud terrain!!!!
toyo mud terrain!!!!
ok, i have done my research on this forum and searched for this tire, but still have not found an answer, so im posting it. i know a couple of you guys on here are runnin the toyo mud terrain tire, 35s. how does this tire ride on the highway at 80 mph? How is the performance etc... of it? i had a tahoe with bfg AT and those were really quiet to me and gave good performance, but i have never had a MT tire before. also, i plan on getting a 2.5 leveling kit, will i have to trim with 35s and 18inch stock wheels? thanks guys
I put a set of Toyo M/T 35s on last week and I love them. I also have a daystar 2.5 and didn't have to trim anything. My driver side plastic wheel well rubbed, but I drilled two small holes in the bottom edge and zip tied it back. Now it only rubs when I turn the wheel all the way to the right hand side. The rub occurs on the frame, which isn't abrasive so there isn't any tire damage. You will instantly hear the minor rub and just have to back off the wheel slightly to eliminate the rubbing. In addition, you have to remember you are not traveling 90 mph when you have the wheel cranked all the way over.
I have a 5.4 Triton with 3.55 gears and I did notice a slight decrease in the acceleration, but I am planning on upgrading to a tuner to correct that situation. It will also bring the spedometer back in line.
The tires do produce some noise, but not near the level I expected. That was a big selling point for me. I heard they were less noisy and drove better than any other tire. However, you are getting what you pay for.
The stability at high speeds (80+ mph) isn't what the factory tires are, but mud tires are not made for high speeds.
Hope this helps. I'll post my gallery next week now that I have the wheels on.

thanks for the info, pics would be great, cant waite to see them. the question i have about the road noise is , i understand these are MT tires, but how bad is the noise, i mean is it a whine, the only thing i have to compare is an MTR!
