weird question

Can anyone with a Larait, King ranch or FX4 tell me how big the factory fender flares are? I want to know the measurement from the edge of the wheel well to the top edge of the fender flare. Not how much they stick out from your truck, but how much they cover.
Unfortunately, I scratched up the new truck and thought that maybe if the factory fender flares are wide enough like 3" or so, I might be able to cover up the scratches. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, they are probably not big enough. I might have to go with a larger aftermarket fender flare. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.

Wouldnt it be cheaper to fix the scratches? Flares arent exactly cheap and they have to be painted if you want them to match the body color.

I got an estimate and it was $517.37 to fix the scratches. A couple of them are pretty deep and have gone down to the metal so they have to repaint the whole side of the bed on the driver's side. If I can get a set of fender flares for $250-300 on ebay like the bushwacker, then I am going to come out ahead.

You still need to do some kind of repair to the scratches too keep
them from rusting up on you underneath the flares
( a little primer or touch up paint or both, something )

I put some touch up paint the same day that I scratched the truck. I thought about trying to fix it myself by building up the paint on the scratch and then buff it down and then using some duplicolor spray paint to complete the paint job, but I am not sure that would be the best way. So, if I could find some flares, then I can cover them up.
