Not trying to be smart or anything, but how much more could a Lariat/KR super crew weigh compared to a XLT super crew? Besides having the bigger engine and wheels, that is. I would think the gas milage should be real close to what you have now.

I've averaged 15.3 MPG over 17100 miles. I haven't towed anything, however.

The thing is, this is so unaccurate. There are so many variables not to mention there has been reports of any where from 10 mpg up to like 21 mpg (which I see impossible but people can claim what they want)

However Im getting at my best 14 mpg in just city driving.

I drive ALOT (in my standards). I have put 7400 miles on my rig since I bought it new 3 months ago. I have driven City, Highway (55-60), & Interstate (80-85). I got 12.5-13.5 in the winter now that it is warming up I am getting 14.5-15.5.

Side Bar: This is the only vehicle I have ever noticed such a drastic change in cold and warm weather mpg. Maybe I just didn't pay close enough attention but man I may move to a warmer climate..it will save me money in gas, yeah..yeah..thats the ticket.

I have an 04 4x4 Lariat SuperKrew w/3.73 LSD, std 18 inch wheels and a hard tonnueau cover. I never get anything below 16 MPG. I average 16-18 combo city/hwy and I get around 18 to almost 20 if I just run highway (60-65mph). Mileage is now 21,800. I would say overall I am very easy on the gas pedal off lights and pretty steady climbing to cruise speeds. The way I figure it ... the morgue is open 24 hours a day ... so what's the hurry? Hope this helps.

'04 Supercrew Lariat 4X4, 3.73, 5.4L Completely Stock with the exception of a tool box in the bed worth about 150lbs in additional weight.

I average ~14mpg in the city, period. On the highway it varies:

If i'm going 70 MPH into a strong headwind, I'll get ~13.
If i'm going 70 MPH with no wind, i'll get ~17-18.

Like others have said, there are so many variables to guage gas mileage. I have noticed, that if I keep the cruise on ~60mph, my digital mileage readout says I get about 1-2 mpg better than if I have it set at 70MPH.

My personal opinion, if getting 3 mpg less is a concern to you, you're looking at buying the wrong type of vehicle. I love my truck for so many reasons, least of which is the gas mileage.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I drive mine pretty hard. I like to use all 300 hp.

Mostly city driving. I am usually looking at 12-13 mpg. I have noticed if I am a little easier, I can get it up to 13-14. After having an old wrangler, where I used to avg less than 10 m pg, this isnt too bad.
