In Channel Side Window Visors
Has anyone installed the new In Channel Side Window Visors? I was wondering if there were any negitive effets like increased window drag. They sure do look good. http://accessory-center.com/default.plx/30/1452

I use the one from Auto Ventshade and swear by them.
I always drive with my window down, and it keeps the
wind and even light rain out. These are very quiet trucks
and some people report a little more noise with the window
cracked, but I don't notice it. If you look on Ebay Motors / F150
Parts there are usually a few very reasonable depending on
your config. If you don't like them just pull them out, I've
wasted more on less!
Good Luck,

I have the ventvisor brand as well. I love them, they are a bit of a pain to get the clips in 100 percent of the way, but they sure make it nice to have the windows down a bit when its raining.
I can't tell any difference from stock on mine. Just make sure you push the clips in all the way is my advice. BTW they look 100 times better than the stick on ones I had on my last truck.
Give it a shot I think you will be impressed with the look and convenience.

except the visor wound up in the channel clip, not behind. Had to
pull the clips out and start over. Fortunately they popped right
out and all was well the second time. Took all of 15 minutes to
get the set of four installed once I figured out the clips.
Exactly as the instructions state, but I think the instructions
could be written/drawn more clearly...
(Sounds like more than a few folks here had fun with the clips!)
I agree with AK Jay, well worth it. Windows work perfectly and
the visors seemed to firm up in place after one night.

On the guys that post no differance in sound, I don't think they are going out on windy days. It's not possible for those 'bat ears' on the side to NOT make some extra noise when the wind hits em.
Remember, I am talking about cross wind noise. Straight line, with or against the wind, faint to none.
When the wind hits from the quarter, you can tell which quarter by the sound.
One possibility, if you drive with a window open, or even cracked slightly, the noise would more than drown out the sound of the Visors.
They are slighly louder than position one on the blower motor, well below position two. That's in our typical 15-30 mph winds.
Not a big deal, and a good amp conquers all....

Have had the AVS on three previous trucks...No problems. This time went with the MacNeil/Weathertech. LOVE them! Better quality, lower profile, easier install.(all of 5 minutes). Have had them on one winter and all summer with windows cracked about 1" most of the time. No fog in winter, cooler in summer. Minimal wind noise. This is on an '05 reg. cab.
