I think your truck is trying to tell you something.

Cold Dry Air = Static Electricity. Some are more prone to it and some are not. I get it all the time and my wife never does. There are myths about different shoes etc but that has never changed anything for me. Pretty much there is nothing you can do about it. I can't wear watches that use batteries because I drain them within less then a week. So I use a self winding watch now. But I have read where if you attach grounding straps to your vehicle it will remove that static discharge but they are ugly and IMO useless. Best bet is to shut the door with your sleeved arm or shoe against the paint which I don't do.

Get you a little bottle on Nitrogin and just keep it cracked open the cap a lttle and there will be no more sparks.thats what we use to blanket our chemical blend tanks so they dont go boom..Takes all the sparks away when you have to open the manway..

If you are getting out of your truck, first touch the body/sheetmetal, then put your feet on the ground.

See if that helps.

Careful, that's what happens when you hear about cars catching on fire while filling up on gas. There was this security cam of a girl who got out of her car to fill up on gas and decided to sit back inside while waiting for the gas to top-off. Guess what happened when she got up and started to pull the nozzle from the filler tube?

While usually annoying, static electricity and gas fumes tend to have combustible results. Get it checked.

actually it's a transfer of electrons, the protons and neutrons have nothing to do with it...

Wipe your seats and carpet with a dryer sheet, or spray with a diluted solution of water and liquid fabric softener. You'd be surprised how well this can work...

Go to your laundry room and grab a dryer sheet, then take it and wipe down the doors and seats of your truck. Or you can get an aerosol spray called 'static guard'. You can find it on the laundry isle of the grocery store.

Fact is, some people create more static electricity than others. It ain't the truck, it's you. Since I ditched the girlfriend who hated dryer sheets and I do my own laundry now, I don't have static problems. Use dryer sheets and it won't happen. For big loads of jeans, use two dryer sheets. They are cheap.

A fellow KR owner here that had the same problem...

Two words (as have already been mentioned)...

DRYER SHEETS.

I know it sounds silly but, don't underestimate the power of that little Snuggle Bear.

Dryer sheets, huh?

WOW

I will try that.

Dryer sheets also work great on removing those nasty bugs from your bumper too.

Thumbs up

Your body is conducting the electricity.
To avoid it do not use your hands or the bottoms of your feet.

Use your tongue to work the door handle and then do a 'drop and roll' to exit the vehicle as if you were on fire.
(screaming is unneccesary)
Once you are clear of the vehicle, stand up, brush yourself off and go on about your business.
