Fx4 Meaning
Who in thier right mind would say that beige looks better than yellow?
Lariat....... sounds kinda fruity if you ask me....
Thumper, you say our trucks ride like a covered wagon, isnt yours the one that looks like it ..... lariat= wood trim. wagons were made of wood?

Geez don't take it so personal. I mean your the guy with the screen name "Caveman" and your the one with the FX4. I guess you've never seen higher end cars or trucks before.
Take it easy bud.
and by the way FX4 = Fruity Foursomes.

I bought the best I could get for what I wanted and needed. Yellow, which, of course, we all know is the best color. And I wanted a 6.5' bed. At the time I ordered it the FX4 fit the bill. Of course we all know that there all great trucks the only difference is the guy who ownes it.

I'm sure when I'm retired, I'll shift towards the Lariat.

No hard feelings though.
Here's what I think it means :
( F ) For the F-Series of Ford .
( X ) In motorcycle terms means Moto-X or off road .
( 4 ) Must be for 4X4 , I don't think there is some 2X4 named that way .
The truck has skid plates on from the factory and shocks must be different , not too sure what else the truck has , I know I like it.......
Even if I never go off road.....

As a "over achieving" Lariat owner I guess I was confused by the 4x4 label on my Lariat. (I will never be able to understand Fx4)
I thought it meant 4 people could go in the front seat and 4 people in the back seat. Thats why they all don't fit.... DOH!!
So I can take this thing off road?

Brew - that was pretty damn funny...
I think all of you Lariat owners are forgetting that the lariat is the same as the FX4. The lariat has no better features then the FX4. They are both just option packages.
Basically if you like chrome and woodgrain, go with the Lariat, if you like carbon fiber and painted bumpers go with the FX4. I personally just built my truck on the ford site, and the option combo's I wanted weren't available with the lariat. And I don't like the chrome bumpers.
But to hear you guys saying how high and mighty your lariat is, well, just makes you pretty much sound retarded. Since it's the same truck. Plain and simple. Doesn't take a genuis to figure that out. I guess it just takes anyone other then a lariat owner to figure it out.
Only thing you lariat boys have on anyone is that gauge mpg deal jobber, and the automatic climate control. Climate control sucks, and is for the truly lazy. And I just go and get gas when I get start getting close to E. If I needed to be constantly reminded of how much the mpg sucks on these trucks, I wouldn't have bought one.
