Question Oil Drip Guard Part Number

During an oil change this winter, I managed to break the plastic drip guard that is below the oil filter. Does anyone happen to be able to lookup the part number for a replacement? I'd like to replace it myself and not deal with dripping oil during future changes.

I think Jandari is talking abouth the plastic shield under the oil filter which directs the spillage during oil filter removal.

You are probably right, as i dont change my own oil i wouldnt know. But when i was surfin the Moss website i came across that and thought that would be a great idea for people who change their own oil. As well im sure he wouldnt have to worry about drips with this installed you would think.

I thought the proper name for it was "drip displacer"?

All mine seems to do is splatter the oil over a well displaced 2 sq. ft. area vs. 1 sq. ft. if it wasn't there.

It does do a good job of funneling the oil into my skid plate, I'll give it that.

Yeah, I was talking about that plastic shield thingy. Mine actually does what it's supposed to and directs the spilled oil to 2 drip points. I like having it because I always seem to spill more oil out of the filter when I remove it than I want to. Without it, I just have more area to wipe on the truck. I guess I'll take a run to the dealer and ask them to grab 1 for me.

Somewhat off the subject...Kanuck's pic reminded me. Re: the drain plug replacements, they appear handy (and I'm sure they are) but they look very vulnerable to off-road damage or accidental draining due to debris striking the valve lever.

Well the one on my truck isn't in the right spot, the oil doesn't even touch it unless I happen to spill a little out of the filter when I'm bring it out. The oil draining out of the block (where the oil filter goes) doesn't even hit the plastic displacer thing.

Can you imagine loosing all your oil accidentally or maliciously? That would put the kibosh on your day big time.
