Bilsteins Installed ! - Ride Height Unchanged

I have completed the installation of my new Bilsteins on the FX4 Scab today. I installed the rears 2 days ago and drove the truck a few times. The ride was improved and the rear tires were definitly hook up better to the road. I got the fronts on today and the ride quality and quietness is even better. Dare I say that it now rivals my old Z71 for smooth ride! All of the harshness is gone along with the uneasy feeling rear end when going over RR tracks, etc. Also as requested, I took height measurements before and after, at the wheel wells, the front tow hooks and the trailer hitch. I moved the truck several feet and stopped in the same position to settle the chassis before taking all measurements. I found NO CHANGE in the height of the vehicle after installing the new shocks. The spring mount on the Bilsteins is the same distance on the shock body as the OEM's. These are the factory replacement units from Bilstein.

Mine should be in next week. I'll take pics and measure the differences if any. Of course my truck only has 600 miles on it

Do the factory replacements have the yellow body or do they come in the silver housing?

It would be interesting to know if any of those with the 'shaker' or 'jello' beds experience any difference with a change of shocks.

I find this quite interesting as several others seem to claim that they got a touch of lift from installing the Bilsteins. That sort of bothered me as I was thinking about a short leveler like 1.5".

Ok bottom line ... you know the Autospring folks? Well, I took my truck to them to have the Bilsteins put on and asked for a 1 to 1.5" front lift, not 2". The strut cup caused a half inch lift so they had to make a 1" spacer so that I'd have the slight rake as I requested.
