40-20-40 seat question

Can the center seat the 20% portion with the arm rest be slid back and forth like the 2 outer seats? Mine is farther forward than the 2 outer seats and with my 4x4 lever, cup holder, and ash tray it makes for not to much leg room at all in the middle.

Thanks

center section can not be moved with out changing the way it is mounted in the truck...

You can see this by raising the arm rest and the pull up on the seat section in the front and it will pop off.. it will take a good pull

Wow now that was really stupid on their part. What the heck were they thinking? There is no place for the center passenger to put there feet. Oh well I'm comfortable

You can pull the whole seat, and drill holes about an 1" forward of the existing holes in some of those center seats. I don't know if you have the same one I have in my FX4, but I mounted a 250 watt Kenwood amp inside the base, and bridged it to a 12" Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer. The holes had to be moved to accommodate my sub box in the front.

LMAO, i had a reg. cab ranger with the 60/40, you have no idea how much room is there compared to our trucks.

Oh I have all the room in the world, but they should have made the center seat where it can be slid back and forth like the outer seats. I guess the middle is reserved for pets or people with no legs?

If I didn't have the 4x4 on the floor, the cup holder, and ash tray then they would have plenty of room as well. I think it was a little short sided on their part.

I just bought a '05 last week, and that was one of the first things I noticed. We baby sitted my 8 year old cousin the other night and he rode in the truck with my wife and I, felt like he was setting way out in front of us. I got down and tried to figure out if the seat slid back but never could find a way to do it. Sure would of made it nice if it would, not that many people will ever ride there, but when they do I am sure they would like to have some leg room and not feel like they are setting on display.

I bought my setup specificly for that reason, so I would be able too say " sorry it's only a two seater " ABSOLUTELY not interested
in putting a third person in the middle for any reason. If I could have found a truck too my specs with the center console I would
have gotten that... But the transfer shifter on the floor suits me just fine

I agree with you. I don't want to haul 3 people very much but when I have to it would be nice if Ford gave them a place to put there feet. I think the captains chairs and center console is the way to go on these trucks.
