Rebates on 2005's??

I am looking at buying a 2005 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat.

I received an e-mail from the internet sales rep for a dealer and they have a $2500 rebate plus another $500 if you use their financing. The one coming in has a couple of options that I don't really need so I may order one with the options that I want. It will take 6-8 weeks to come in.

Does anyone know what the rebates will be 2-3 months from now?

Thanks.

Sounds good. So heres what you do.
Walk in , tell him you want X truck at invoice minus the rebate and minus the 500 bucks. That's your offer. Allow him to go up by 500 if you want to be nice, otherwise leave.

Don't let them bs you about rebates. Rebates are given to the dealer later after the sale, it has no bearing on the price of the vehicle. If you pay any more than invoice, you are just giving the dealer free profit.

X-plan pricing is $32,357.39
Rebate at this time is $2,500

Rebates typically go up as the end of the model year comes to an end, but you never know. They have slowed production on many models, and if near the end of the model year inventory is in check they may not have as sweet-a-deal. I think rebates now are $2,000 + $1,000 for Ford Credit Loan, can't see them lowering them from that.

When I bought my 2003 (in September of 2003), the 2004 were just starting to show up, I get x-plan and that discount is set, but I got rebates galore and I even got the dealer to pay a $1,000 it came on paperwork as cash deposit, but I didn't give it to them.

MSRP was: $33,555 and I paid $23,000 + tax/title/plates.

If you are going to order one you may want to firm up your price at time of order and give them an earnest money deposit, this shows your commitment, and keeps them from upping the price after the truck shows up (with everything you want, and nothing you don't) If only we could special order our women........

Good Luck!

That's a great price for a Lariat! I'd expect the rebates to be in the ball park of what you are seeing now a few months down the road. They have been hanging around that amount for a while now. I plan to wait until June-August to get into a new FX4 and am hoping the rebates will be better by then. I've got a D-Plan to play with, so hopefully I'll be looking at a reasonable price too.

i just got my truck and it had the $2,500 rebate. also talked him down another $1500. sticker price was 27,000. got it for 23,000 i would imagine u might be able to get more down on a truck that costs around 35k to begin with

what the differance between Xplan, Aplan and Dplan? i know what xplan is but i dont know what D and A are.....are they same as the xplan? or is one better than the other?

Btw dealer invoice varies, as dealers get incentives from factories, they get holdback, they get storage allowance, as well as well as rebates from factory to customer cash back stuff.

in other words, dealer says the invoice on a regcab f150 4x2 4.2L V6 auto is 20grand, what they dont tell ya is that they get about 1500-3000 dollars in holdback, another 2-3k in factory to dealer incentives, another 1k for storage allowance (dealers have to pay lot space per vehicle every month, which to them...the sooner they sell the more of the allowance they get to keep), they also get the money back on the rebates they send in that are given to customers.

so to a dealer a car or truck that they say cost them 20k, is probably more along the lines of 5-10k less than what they say is their invoice price.

theres more info and better typed info on http://www.carbuyingtips.com and http://www.fightingchane.com as well as http://www.car-buying-strategies.com

the way im gonna represent my offer is, X-plan - minus rebates - storage allowance - 1/2 of holdback = my price offer.....and see which fish bites first. once they know theres more than one going for the bait i should get a quick response for my business.

hope that helps

~Q
p.s. incentives and rebates change on a monthly or so baises.

I just ordered an FX4 Supercrew two tone paint. I got it for 500 below invoice. Plus there is an additional $4000 in rebates right now. $2500 plus additional $1000 if you go through FMC plus 500 for military.

My cost will be 30274 and msrp was 39665. If you order one start at invoice and go backwards. They should be willing to give up some of the holdback money since it wont cost them anything by not setting on the lot for a while. Good luck. BTW....invoice is a better deal than x-plan price.

You have to run the figures on rebates and their financing. The retate mentioned above to get the additional 1000 you have to finance at 7.5 percent intererst. One of the other options was to only take 1000 in rebate but get 1.9 percent which is actually cheaper in the long run over 5 years. Just make sure you work out all the numbers before you go in. I look at my total cost over years not what my payment would be.

How do you find out what the invoice prices are? Will they tell you that information if you ask, or do you look it up some where?

I get A plan cause of my brother in law. X plan is offered thru my company because we only drive ford ambulances. X plan is no different than their "Freinds and Family" discount. My brother in law tells me these are non0-negotiable however I have seen threads here that tell a different story.

I just put a deposit on an FX4 supercrew using the x-plan and the salesman said it is non negotiable. I also will be getting $3000 in rebates unless they are better at time of delivery..4-6 weeks

RobNY - Yes they are "suppose" to be non-negotiable, but if a dealer wants to move one bad enough. Legally they will get in trouble from Ford, but my dealer put customer deposit = $1,000 and I didn't give them a dime, so they paid $1,000 of my truck out of their pocket. Remember this was September of 2003 on a 2003, and the New 2004's were coming in daily.

Good Luck!
