Fender flares

I did a search and did not find what I was looking for so here goes. First I would like to know from those of you with lifts and bigger tires/wheels and aftermarket flares how much crud the flares keep off the side of your trucks. Second does anyone have pics of Extend a Fender flares instead of the pocket flares? Thanks for any help

If the ground is wet my truck is dirt nasty in about 1/4 of a mile. I have the FX4 flares on my truck and the tires in the front stick out about 1.5-2.0" in the front. The look is great but it does make a mess out of the side of the truck. The step bars protect a lot and I wouldnt want to run without them. Maybe someday I will get the pocket flares but $300-$400 for some ABS plastic is a little much. Besides mud looks good on black paint.
