pretty simple. pull your wheels off. There are 2 bolts on the caliper you remove. Then pull the caliper up off the rotor, and you'll be able to remove the pads and install the new ones. Then you'll need a large c-clamp to push the piston back in on the caliper so that it will go back on over the new pads. I use a small metal plate across the piston, others just use the old pad to press against when using the c-clamp. Install the 2 bolts back in the caliper and you're done! Then start your truck and pump the brakes a few times to build the pressure back up in the caliper.

Is it necessary to have your rotors turned before putting new pads on? I have 19k miles on my truck and the brakes are starting to squeal and the dust is unbearable. I know how to change the pads, but I don't know if it is a must to turn the rotors.

If they’re not warped or heavily grooved, no.

I am also a pretty... heavy beaker. I don't mean to be, but this truck can sometimes be hard to stop... so sometime I have to put people through the windshield just to stop it. I just keep cleaning the wheels to get rid of the break dust... It's not my truck so I can't really buy anything for it... the owner might get angry (I WILL HAVE ONE THOUGH...soon)
