Audiophile vs. "Regular" 6-disc stereo system
I'm no stereo nut but I love my Audiophile. Sounds great to me. No complaints. All the other options are great but I use the location setting the most (drivers seat, all, rear only)
Great when I got something on for the kids...and I don't have to listen to it.

My last rig I traded in had about 1500 in the stereo includeing dynamat, not a lot of money but it sounded really good. I am way more into awesome clarity than letting the world know what Yanny cd i have in (lol, just kidding
) Anyway, I think the audiophile sounds great with exception of the rear speakers. I will replace those and add a small amp if needed, but the rest of it sounds great for a stock set-up.

Does the Audiophile just add the subwoofer, or are the other speakers upgraded as well? Any other differences in the stereo head unit itself?
Thanks

I'll add my 2 cents to the mix.
I bought the plain 6 disc, and my wife's father bought his with the Audiophile.
I spent about $350 total on new Pioneers for the doors, a 12" Rockford Fosgate SubWoofer, and a 250W Kenwood Sub Amp.
Yes, my sytem required about 3 hours of my own time for the install, (I built my own box), and yes, finding a good spot for the bigger box is a pain, BUT, my father in-law is now wanting to chuck his setup and have me do his too. It flat spanks his system and I'm talking by miles.
If music quality is important, do it yourself. If not, buy the audiophile.
Let me also add this to my previous post.
One bridged 12" sub has (assuming a full 12"diameter) has about 113 square inches. This doesn't include the added surface due to it being a conical circle at that.
Two 8" subs have a total of 101 square inches.
The sound you can get out of one 12" over two 8" is amazing.

apologies for resurrecting an old post, but I have a couple questions for 1969Mach and anyone else who has answers:
- when installing new speakers in the doors, did you just use the existing wires? Any cutting/splicing? Any additional amplification?
- could you please post pics of your sub box?
I have a 10" Kicker solo-baric and a Kenwood sub amp left over from my old truck, and I want to use them, some nice door speakers (was thinking Rockford Fosgate components) for a stereo for my new S.Crew.
Thanks.

^you can get speaker wire harness adapters from places like Best Buy so you don't have to cut your factory speaker wires. They cost around $6. I got ones that said 1998 and up Ford, and they plugged right into the front door wire harness. I got Kenwood components running off the factory radio and they sound great.
also, I got 2 pics of my supercrewsound.com 10" sub box in my gallery.

I got the Audiophile in my Lariat, only because I want to have decent quality sound without having to lay out a bunch of cash. I believe it was a $250 option on my sticker. Tell me where you can find a whole system that sounds as good as the Audiophile for that cheap. Something comparable at a stereo place would be around $500+, I know..I used to work in car audio years ago.
