Unhappy headlight lens crazing

Has anybody had problems with the headlight lens crazing? I have small cracks on both lenses in different spots. The one on the drivers side is over the main headlight bulb and the other is over the turning signal bulb. Looks like a classic case strees buildup during the molding process.

Any others out there??

Are you sure it's not stone damage?

lens crazyniss

Pretty sure in that I have not been off road or behind trucks and the crazing does not exhibit the marring / impact that a stone would. Logic would have it that there would be damage in other places if that were the case. I assume the lenses are polycarbonate which would be very impact resistant (if molded properly).

They are, indeed, polyC. It would take a heck of an impact to cause such an appearance.

My hunch is that it *may* be a warranty issue. Good luck and let us know!

It is a warrenty issue. Take it in.

It's not due to any stone or impact damage. The polycarbonate that the lenses are made out of are having some issues with chemicals they come in contact with.

It's not exactly known why they are doing it, nor is this only an issue with the F-150 lamps. It's occuring across the entire spectrum of vehicles both Ford and non-Ford that have PC lenses.

Trust me, just take it in and have them swap the lamps out. And feel lucky, it's only occuring on 1% of the lamps out there.

i just got it. looks like cobwebs or something in the lens. warranty? ive got 39000. dont think they'll pay. I had someone hit me and put a little scrape on the lens and they said they had to replace the whole headlight assembly. about 250 bucks or something. more i think. looks like schnizzit and blows big time.

You can try ebay... there's always stock headlights there... typically MUCH cheaper than your stealership.

ESP cover something on Warranty, ya right. Lol My Truck is a 2016 F150 and the fog lights are Crazing, i've seen several trucks that are fairly new with crazed headlights, i think it's a overall quality issue.
