You just take off your surround and snap it back on to the new grill. I was more careful than I needed to be but it is all plastic so I guess it's better to be careful.

Honestly, I'd wait it out and buy one on ebay or in the classifieds on this site.

 

to my knowledge you can't buy the grill without the surround unless you go the ebay route. it will end up much cheaper to just re-use your existing charcoal surround.

I don't recall a ford color called "ebony" either.

The only way I'd go through a parts dealer is if you wanted to go to the chrome surround, which may not even be available with the XLT grill.

 

if I were to buy this grille here - http://www.carriageworksinc.com/products/42101.html could i just take out the innards of my stx grille and bolt this one in, or do i have to buy the honeycomb innards to bolt to.
