Hellbound - Tach Question for you...
Hellbound
Hey man, I browsed all 36 pages trying to find your post about your tach upgrade. I love what you did with that and wanted to know what was involved with that install and if you did it yourself?
I tried to search it out but nothing came up. I would like to add a tach to my truck as well.
Thanks for any input
Scott

You need a tach adapter....Autometer sells them for about 70.00 plus shipping. You will have to order it as well.
Also, keep in mind the wiring instructions they will send you are WRONG. I fried the first one they sent me and it was because they had the wrong diagram in there. The guy said they send a "general" idea of what is correct.
Anyway, if you get that far go ahead and e-mail me and I will show you exactly how to hook up the tachometer....the right way. Cool?
Here is a link to the exact model # you will need. This will covert your distributorless ignition into a 12V current, thus, producing a good tach signal.
