Did anyone else in the Detroit Metro area get the letter from Ford talking about how Roush wants to test drive their truck. Long story short, you get $100, a Taurus to drive while they have your truck, and they wash, vacuum, and return your truck with a full tank of gas. They want to check the emissions on our trucks. I think I might do this, I just don't know how they'll feel about my mods... Obviously I'm going to remove the Superchips tuner, but with the exhaust and intake I'm just not sure, well it's worth a shot anyway...
Why remove anything from the truck at all ( maybe ) their trying to find out what we the owners have done for improvements to our trucks and how it affects them overall.
I grew up in Monroe Michigan, now I'm north of Lnoxville Tennessee, but if I still lived up north I'd let them use my truck for test as long as I had something to show proof it was mine and I'd be getting it back.
look on the bright side there may be some unwritten perks to be had for those whom allow them to use their trucks.

My final thought on this is. NO one can possibly drive my truck harder than I do on a daily basis. not Mark Martin, Kurt Busch and certainly not Matt Kennseth, Mark may come close.....If in fact I put 40 miles on my truck a day 30 of those will be W.O.T. I may leave 15 foot of black marks leaving Wal Mart or I may run 100 going to Knoxville.

Roush Testing

I got the letter also..not sure what I am going 2 do. But I have 40k on mine so I figure it is on the high side of most 2004's out there. Probably my truck is more desirable to them. Should be worth more to them than the $100 maybe they can let me borrow something more Exotic than a Taurus.

This is how they test Ford's Emission Compliance. Some of us in MI used to have to pay to get an emissions test to get renewal tabs now the vehicles are just sampled and tested at Roush to ensure they meet the government requirements. No scam and also probably why they can't use Ford owned vehicles.

Attn: Jack Roush

I wil gladly give you my truck for the week and you don't owe me a dime, however the Taurus can't be a production model. I need the NASCAR version with 750 hp.

I will even deliver to the Livonia shop and proceed from there to MIS BABY!

That sounds like complete BullshiIt, if they needed an f150 with a few miles on it to test emissions they could rent one from AVIS, or Home Depot for 29.95 a day, have full insurance coverage, not have to pay for the taurus and not have to clean it. Why would they pay you 100 bucks.

Plus why would they need it all day, an emission test doesn't tkae that long.
