Talking Xcalibrator is here!!!!!

I got the Xcalibrator and got the 93 tune loaded after I filled it up and boy am I impressed!!! I have had it in there a few days and it is just a LOT funner to drive now. That thing has all kinds of power, and power when and where I need it. I can stab the gas at 70 mph and it shifts to 2nd and pulls to somewhere around 85-90 before it shifts again and then it just KEEEPS going. Changes gears just under 6,000 RPM fast and hard. I can roast the tires nicely from a stop with a simple stab of the gas. Pulling out onto roads sliding sideways with ease . For anyone *thinking* about getting the Xcalibrator....don't think anymore! GET IT!!!!

S.C.T. ...........

I recieved mine last week, and I have the same feelings that you do about it. I love mine. I noticed that my throttle lag was completely gone, the truck seemed to need less input from the pedal to get going. Mine doesn't reach 6000rpm for a shift, more like 5200-5400, but then again from what I have heard this tach's or not completely accurate. Anyway, I am very satisfied with the results, as you seem to be also.

RockPick, you're NEXT!

The stock torque converter in the F150’s are only good up to around 5400rpm, after that they begin to fail

I haven't heard this, but I believe it. You turn that transmission up to 6000rpms enough, it'll self-destruct on you over time.

Of course, this is all in the name of fun, so if if you're willing to pay-to-play, then by all means go for it!!

Why does the torque converter fail at 6000? It shifts more like 5700, but my stock shifts were around 5200-5300 so it isn't that much different. From the time I orderd mine, I got it within 4 days........but I got it from a distributor like 30 minutes from me that I knew of previously.

We don't use anything more than a 5400 rpm WOT upshift point with a stock torque converter simply because even though a 5600 rpm WOT 1-2 would give quicker ET's at the drag strip, the stock 12" torque converter really doesn't like revving much beyond 5400-5500 rpm on a frequent basis - that's the real limiting factor, the torque converter - the engine can take more than the stock TQ in this specific regard.
The stock T/Q can only take so much. They start to lose their shape and balloon at high rpm’s. 5,400rpm is the high end of the safe zone for a stock T/Q; go higher if you dare

HOLY WHIPS AND CHAINS BATMAN!!!

It's installed.

Two words... HOLY CRAP!

Who took my truck and replaced it with this KR in the garage? The acceleration off the line is, let's say, a bit perkier. Chirping the tires on a truck the size of a 4X4 SCREW is impressive... I can do a bit more than chirp too.

This is just the 87 performance tune too... I'm itching to give the 93 a whirl now.

The bad news, while test driving with the new tuner tonight, I got a flat. I guess I have something to do in the morning now... lucky me.

Is your truck tuned?

Congratulations on the Custom Tunes guys! I know how you feel, I am still excited about mine, and it has been on for a couple weeks now. Definately "best bang for the buck" mod.

It's SOOOOOOOO sweet.

I'm anxious for my truck to 're-learn' my driving as the shifts are a bit hard right now from what I was used to but, tis life. It'll get better.

It's SOOOOOOOO sweet.

The fun never stops either. An F250 tried to mess with me earlier tonight without success. He had nothing.

I just ordered the Stage "1.75 kit" from Mike today, I already had the Magnaflow... (really the Stage 2 kit) Also waiting on the outcome with the AF1 air intake kit.

Anybody that really wants to do your 2004/2005 truck correctly for performance, really needs to talk to Mike at Troyer Performance!! He talked to me for over an hour and really helped me make the right decision. (of course reading his posts are what made me call him in the first place)

Man I can't wait, you guys are killing me here....
