Audiophile system problem

I have a supercrew with the Audiophile system, the problem is it's shorting out. At my dads dealership we put a radio from another truck in with no luck. So it's not the head unit, anyone else have problems like these. Could it be from the steering wheel controls?
Any feedback or ideas would help.

ps even the techs don't know what the problem could be without calling ford and taking a really good look at it.

Had a similar problem on the wife's Taurus - it was a loose fuse in the box under the hood that was installed with an aftermarket CD changer. Double check all fuses serving the entertainment system if you haven't already tried that.
