Go with the tonneau cover

Tonneau cover, it will save you enough gas over the next 2 years that you'll be able to buy the rug, but if gas prices keep going up.....................

For $300 bucks, you can afford both the Tuff Tonneau III (I have it, it is a very nice soft cover) and a rubber bed mat to protect the bed floor and keep stuff from sliding around.

PS - If you shop around, you can find that cover for around $200 with free shipping. A good rubber bed mat will run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $60 to $80 bucks.

Well, do you haul stuff? A cover is great but if you scratch your bed all to hell the bedrug will be pointless later on.

I'd bedrug it now to protect your assumed pristine bed, then cover it later.

The fuel savings by getting a cover are overrated! Protect the bed!

Another vote for the tonneau cover first and a bedrug or bed liner later.

I was faced with the same decision and went with the cover. Was going on a trip and needed lugguge to be covered. Used the bed for a few months before getting Line-X and yeah it did get scuffed up, but they had to scuff it up anyway before appling the Line-X.

I 2nd the opinion of dzervit.

If you need to cover something, then Tonneau it. But if you don't, then Bedrug it and take care of your bed.

Saving gas mileage with Tonneau's are HIGHLY overrated!!! No hard data that I have seen increases your gas mileage. It's all a matter of hear-say and opinions.

Hear a penny for your thoughts: You get what you pay for, ALWAYS!! So make your decision a wise one.

Good Luck as either would be a great investment at this time.
