New Mods complete, for now..

I have finished with all the mods I really wanted to do, posting some pics for everyone to see. In the last 6 weeks I added a Westin Bull Bar with KC Slimlites (Driving), Magnaflow SI/DO Catback system, Extang RT rollup Tonneau cover, and added a Punch 200 with a 10 inch Audiobahn subwoofer to go with the factory CD player. Prior to all this I had the Westin nerf bars, a K&N airfilter, and had the front windows tinted (don't remember the % but not very dark).

I ordered a Factory 6 disc MP3 player off of ebay but couldn't get it to work so I sent it back. It powered up but wouldn't play cd's. Think it needed 2 plugs but I only had 1. If anyone has upgraded from a single CD to a 6 disc MP3 (not Audiophile) let me know how they did it.

I almost did the Ground Force 2" shackle drop, but wanted to do more research on potential issues with vibrations before I did it. And besides, I think most of my tax return is gone now.

I love the Magnaflow. I did searching on this message board and it seemed to be the one most everyone recommended. Plus supposedly there is a 14-15 Horsepower gain, but I bought it for the looks and for the sound. But everyone who bought others brands seems to like theirs too. I think the deciding factor was that I could get the catback system from Hottexhaust.com for $383 including shipping(using the coupon code). My local muffler shop charged $100 to install and they got in done in about an hour.

Ford changed exhaust systems mid-2004 and according to my build date I had the new exhaust style so I bought the newer catback system. But when the muffler shop started assembling the system I came up several inches short from the front of the muffler to the intermediate pipe . No biggie for them, they just added that extra pipe which I wouldnt have been able to do on my own. I also had have the towing package which Magnaflow didn't account for so they tack welded some hangers on to my frame since the tow package was using the holes the pipes were supposed to use.

Everytime I start my truck its a constant reminder of a good investment. But to avoid any potential headaches I would let a muffler shop install.

I haven't heard the audiophile system. I imagine the highs sound better since the audiophile head unit has some features the regular factory cd player does not. But I have more bass than the audiophile sub. The Audiophile sub/amp combo includes 8" driver w/ a 90-watt amp. I have a 200 watt amp pushing a 10" driver. But the audiophile supposedly has an 80 watt amp inside the headunit that goes to the door speakers. I am not sure what the regular factory CD pushes to the doors, but I imagine it's less.

I have most of the bass turned off to my door speaker so the highs come in clean and the sub provides all the bass, which is plenty. And I can always upgrade my factory unit to something aftermarket and my current setup will work perfectly.

I am thinking of putting a bullbar on my white 04 FX4 and want a Tal and Hadas bar. However I am considering the Westin. My question is does it come with the skid plate on there or can you take it off. I don't like the looks of the Westin skid plate.

The westin comes with the skid plate, and it's nothing a cutter can't remove. Just a little work and TLC...
