Nissan has determined that some 2004 model year Nissan Titan King Cab and Crew Cab vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 201 – Occupant Protection in Interior Impact. FMVSS 201 specifies certain requirements for components othe upper interior of vehicles such as roof rails and pillars to assure they afford appropriate protection in the event an occupant’s head strikes the component in a crash. Nissan has determined that an area on the rear pillar where the rear seat belt upper anchor is attached may not be sufficiently energy absorbent. This could result in an increased risk of injury if the area is struck in some types of crashes. All other requirements under FMVSS 201 and other standards are met.

2) Titan has better tow ability in real world tests
3) Titan has more options for the money
4) Titan has more tow capacity in 4x4 models.
5) Titan has more interior space
6) Titan has 5 speed auto
Ford:
1) F150 has higher max towing numbers (but doesn't do a better job at it)
2) F150 has higher payload, again doesn't do a better job)
3) F150 has a better interior
4) F150 has a quieter engine and drivetrain
5) F150 has a quiter ride period
Well, when you buy a truck, you look for what the Titan has more than what the Ford has usually. So you take your pick between the two.

Everytime this g35_tx guy comes on here he just starts chit over which truck is better. It really goes nowhere and just causes tempers to rise. Just do a search on his posts!
And like I said before, I am pretty sure he was asked to leave here once, and suspended from his own Titan forum.
You like your Titan and we like our F-150's, just leave it at that!

Well, here you go again about suspension on the titan forum. You know people get banned that are members for a long time from that site just for questioning the moderator, or going to another site period. They ban at least 3-4 members a week.
Again, thanks to everyone for all of your opinions. Just to make a few more points here....the reason I started this thread was simply to get some factual based opinions from Ford owners who drive these trucks everyday. I dont need facts about the Titan because I own one. Am I completely happy with my Titan?? ......NO. I wouldnt be here discussing the possibility of purchasing an 05' F150 if I were that happy. Yes, the Titan has tons of power and will absolutely kick as* down the road. But, when looking at a truck, I look for just more than power. The Titan does have a roomy interior, but so does the Ford. The Ford beats my Titan hands down for interior comfort and ergonomics. Unfortunately, this is where the Titan falls short....not to mention the 5,000,000 rattles that I have everyday (I have to turn the radio way up). I admit, the reason I bought the Titan was for (what I thought at the time) the different exterior design that looks very odd to say the least along with the power. But, the more I see Ford F150's drive by me, I think the Ford looks more aesthetically pleasing and much more refined to say the least. The Ford may not have as much throttle response and power, but I am finding after research that the Ford performs way better after an airaid CAI, exhaust system, and maybe some different tuning. Bottom line, the Titan may get me to my destination quicker, but the Ford wont be that far behind and I will have alot more fun getting there in a Ford I think due to the beautiful and quiet interior. I think Nissan's big selling point is obviously there engine and cool commercials indicating that the Titan is "badas* and mean looking". But, as a Titan owner, I am really dissapointed with the overall fit /finish and quality. So, the good news is I test drove an 05' Screw lariat yesterday and fell in love with it!! I am going back this afternoon for an additional test drive, but I can tell you that I am SOOOOOO impressed with the overall ride and fit/finish. Not to mention the interior which is so nice to look at and really has a high dollar look to it. The heated leather seats are also very comfortable and the exterior is very attractive. As the salesman and my wife and I were going down the road, I could actually whisper and my wife could hear me. Never before could I have dreamed of that happening in a truck. She really likes the Ford better than the Titan and so do I. Sure, not as much power, but it beats the Titan in so many other categories. So long Nissan....it was fun while it lasted. Hello to all my new Ford brothers and sisters!

I bought a 04F150 SCAB 4.6L back in October. Initially I was a disappointed because of the vibration in the steering wheel at 40-55 mph. I considered trading for a Titan, but realized that I loved the look and the smooth driving (except for the vibration) of the F150 too much to let it go just to get the Titan's acceleration.
So after getting educated on the Forums about the vibration, and having a good dealer service dept, my torque-sensitive vibe was fixed via a replacement of the rear ring and pinion.
So I am very happy with my F150 (and I love to just sit and stare at it!), and am next going to be looking into intake and exhaust to improve the performance some.

FYI, all vehicles in some form and fashion have issues and that includes rattles. The new F150 has its share of them as well. So if your just getting rid of the Titan because of that please give it up. The Titan interior isn't all that bad compared to the other trucks. And if you get a Lariat, you will have the rock hard leather seats. That is what tore me away from the F150 when I wanted one.

I traded my chevy in for an 05 F150 just last month. One of the things I always hated about my old chevy (02) was the fact that the interior was so cheesy and cheap, I mean I paid nearly 30k for that truck and it would squeak and rattle all over the place. I like many others just turned up the volume and lived with it, I mean come on it's a truck and I bought a truck to use it. If I wanted a quiet ride I'd buy a car...
However, I cannot tell you how happy I am with the interior of my new ford. Holy crap is it nice! The fit and finish is exceptional. Even when I had to remove a couple of panel pieces to run my Sirius install you could see where they would go the exta mile to add felt and stickon's to help reduce rubbing and rattling. They definately get an A+ in the cab design.
As for drive train rattle or vibrations, I cant help you there, our streets are so horribly crappy that I couldn't find a patch of road smooth enough to know if it's vibrating or shaking. lol
I was very concerned at first with the obvious whimpy response of my new truck, but got used to it within about 2 weeks. Now I don't care or even miss the old sport truck.

I just bought a new 05 STX 4x4 SCAB. 4.6L
2 weeks old, well, in my hands.
I love it!
so much room and I can here a pin drop! hooked up my camper the other day, seemed to have more power/quickness the more I made it work. could not even tell it was back there.
I work for a company that prototypes parts for all car companies. Ive had the titan in my shop and have taken it for a test drive, nice truck, but for what I wanted in a truck, the Ford was better fit, looks, room and power.
its your choice, but you cant go wrong with the ford, if you were to buy one, I feel you would be happy you did. either way, enjoy it!
happy shopping, Ken

Hey I've got an idea!
Why don't you shut the hell up!?
We don't like you, we never have, we never will. All you do is cause problems. Leave the forum, you act like a little girl trying to stir up some drama.

Who's the loser who has a lightweight titanic and has nothing better to do with his life thant come to a Ford site and talk smack? g35_tx BTW what is the weight of the titanic compared to the F150. This may explain some of the power
