Rough Idle update......

I just want to pass along some infomation . if you own a 2004 f-150 4x2 5.4l. I took my truck to my dealership 2 times, for a couple problems rough idle bieng the main one. the first time they told me the engine is still breaking in and to give it a couple more thousand miles, it wont hurt the engine, and if it continues bring it back. I was'nt happy with that explanation so I brought it back 2-weeks later this time they checked everything out and said ford knows about the problem and theres nothing they can do about it right now call them back in 2-weeks to see if they have an update. I have never heard of such a thing. how bout if I tell them I'm not sure how I'm going to make my next payment, call me back in a couple of months and I might know then?

Makes you wonder. My old Chevy had a rough idle/knock at start that the dealer claimed Chevy knew about yet didn't have a fix. To this day I'm sure they are using the same excuse. I feel for you.

I have the same problem with my 04 XLT 2x4. I have bean waiting 2 months for a fix. The dealer keeps telling me the engineers at Ford are working on it. I just don't understand why it only affects the 2x4's.
