Where did you get your leveling kit?

What is the best place for a leveling kit? I would prefer autospring or daystar, I checked on ebay and found a few for less than 140 with s/h. And what if any special tools are needed for installation? Thanks. Also I did try searching but found nothing.

Order direct, I did and they are very helpful folks! http://www.autospringcorp.com./produ...expedition.htm

As far as tools, it's helpful to have a 4 lb. adjustment tool, i.e. hammer, 30mm deep well socket and a torque wrench.

Search on "autospring install" and you'll find a ton of info. https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ght=autospring Git'r done you won't regret it!!

What he said.

BTW, the "4 lb. adjustment tool" is for popping the ball joint loose(don't use seperator tool, it may damage the boot)

I can vouch for the man selling the Autospring kit in the classifieds. My recent transaction with him was excellent

I would recommend that you go with the autospring. This is one quality constructed design. I purchased the 2.5" leveling kit for $119.00 off of an ebay auction. I recieved the kit yesterday while at work and installed it into the truck when I got home.

You will need a 30mm deep well socket to get the bottom of the coil-over shock loose and a 15mm box wrench to get the three nuts off of the top of the coil-over shock. Next remove the bottom nut of the anti-sway bar on the lower control arm and nut holding the upper ball joint to the knuckle. Tap the upperball joint unitl it releases and pull the coil-over spring out. This entire process takes less that 45mins. The assembly is just reverse of the removal and goes really quick. From the time that I loosened the lugnuts till the time I had it back on the ground was about 2 hours.

Now the truck sits level and rides the same as factory. The steering is less stiff than factory but that can be expected with suspension modifications. I will get an alignment tomorrow and retighten the entire setup in about one week. This is truly a DIY project that makes a significant difference to the stance and appearence of the F150.

Hope this helps with your decision.

In the aluminum rack in the back of the shop.Had a hunk of 6-1/2 round and widdled some out of it.Had a choice of making them out of pipe and 1/4 hot roll plate or aluminum.

IMO The aluminum spacers for only 5 dollars more is a 10 times better product. But any lift you do get makes the truck look a 100 times better.

I ordered my 2.5" Daystar kit from EBAY for $86.00 shipped for a total of $98.00. I believe the company I got them from was www.truckxessories.com . I should get them via UPS tomorrow and plan to put them on this weekend. I plan on posting pics, instructions and lessons learned sometime next week.

Stay tuned!
