Premade Subwoofer Box/Enclosure

I have an '04 FX4 Extended Cab and I'm looking to put 2 10's in my truck and looking to buy a premade box. I seen musicmooseaudio, supercrewsound and subbox.net all make boxes for our trucks. I have Image Dynamic IDQ subs and they are supposed to have a mounting depth of 5.25". I'd like to hear some feedback from those who have used these boxes and how well they worked and how good they fit under the seat. I need to have the back seat in the same position and function as it is now.

Also if you've put an amp behind the seat, how much room is back there? My amp is 26X10X3--do you think it will fit?

Let's hear it. Thanks guys.

I ordered my box from supercrewsound.com and had a little difficulty finding a speaker that would fit in it. I dont think the speakers you have now will fit in the boxes you posted. I went with an Audiobahn DVC 10" woofer and it sounds really good. There just isnt much room under the back seat, and the speakers have to be pretty shallow. The seats in the scab and screw are the same I believe.

I like the idea of the JL audio deal but the $$$$ is too much right now. Plus I already have 2 brand new subs.

I just have the single 10" box from supercrewsound.com. I found that the little rubber post on the box interferes with the lip on my Nifty Extreme catch-all rear mat. However I did not want to cut my rear mat. So I have the mat tucked under the box slightly. This causes my "60" portion rear seat to stick up slightly, like 1/4" higher than the smaller "40" rear seat. But my seat still latches down as it's supposed to.

Can't help you with your amp question. I'm just running a small MTX amp and have it under the front passenger seat.

I have a musicmooseaudio box and installed 2 JL 10w3v2s in it. Sounds great and the box looks and works great also. I recommend them highly.

Let me know what you decide on Scott. I haven't looked into anything yet, but I'm in dire need of some better sound. I can also help get you some junk at cost possibly through my friends at Esoteric Sound.

What I've got is a bunch of brand new equipment I bought for my old truck that won't fit this truck!!!!!!! frustrating...and expensive.

I do have set of Boston Acoustic NX87s coming. I hope to have them later in the week. I'm gonna throw them in the front doors and see how they sound and go from there.

I'll prob pick up a box from musicmoose or supercrew cux I don't have time to make one myself (nor do I have the talent or patience). I just have to make the sure the subs I have will fit.

If you know anyone looking for a set of brand JL Audio components, let me know. They are 6.5's and the XR series. Awesome speakers but won't fit my doors without heavy modification.

p.s. shouldn't you be posting on the import forums?????

REDTX...The specs on your JLs say the mounting depth is 5.75". Did they fit the box ok?? Musicmoose website says the mounting depth is 5.5".

I actually had to modify the box to fit them. I just cut two holes in the back for the magnets and put pieces of aluminum over them plus some neat logos. I'll post a pic.

The WWD JUNK is for sale. 400hp and 120mph trap speeds aren't good enough anymore. I'm definitely not dumping more money into that pig so i'm looking for some sort of clean rolling chassis, or a fairly inexpensive car setup for the 1/4 that could see some street use as well. If you know of anything let me know.

I'm gonna have my friend Dan throw together something with some old Solo-Barics and a PPI amp that I've got layin around.

thanks for the info guys. I'll prob end up with a musicmoose box--looks like they fit good and a little cheaper than supercrew.

REDTX--box looks good. Like those JL logos.

GUNMAN...give me a call or email me direct at nosfrog@adelphia.net. Let me know what you're looking for and what you got to spend. Can't you put a turbo on that truck? I think the Comet needs a turbo.
