Arrow Backspacing?

I have 315/70/17s on stock rims, and I want to get some new wheels. Any one know how big of a backspacing, or offset, or how ever that works I can go, and not have my tires stick out too much? thanks

I pretty sure 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 in backspacing should be good for you. But wait until Wandell posts, he always knows

I've read the stock 04-05 backspacing is 5 1/2 inches. I would think you would want to stay close to that.

Dont go less than +25mm offset unless you are lifting it.

so is less going to stick out more. or is a higher number. And what is that 51/2 compared to 44mm. Sorry to such a pain, I just don't want it to look ghetto sticking way out...
