replacement shifter options

Are there any options available to replace the plastic console shifter? I thought I read about someone on here replacing their's with a MOMO unit but I can't find it anywhere. That cheap plastic thing drives me crazy

Welcome to the cheap-a$$ console shifter hate club.

Unfortunately, he short answer is no, there is no replacement at this time. A lot of us had great hopes for the shifter **** from the Lincoln LT, but jhartz just confirmed it a no-go. I'm bummed too.

I'm now regrouping my thoughts on this and am about to recover the existing one in leather and call it done.

myst,

i was also thinking that may be the simplest solution - and it should not be too hard to have some place make up a simple leather cover for these shifters - heck you could probably make a fortune on those.

I'm just putting it on the "not that important list" now that I can't get the LT shifter.

I'm still waiting to see why the LT shifter won't fit. The thing is like $200 my cost, I don't want to order one only to find out that it won't work. I know Ford's done some dumb things before, but I can't see why it wouldn't fit.

$200... That's one expensive leather wrapped piece of plastic. Now it sinks even further on the "not that important" list. Geez...I was thinking $75 at the very most. What a price to pay for cheap luxury. I can definitely live with what I've got for now.

Hell you can buy a cow for less money than that shifter.
I think i will be visiting a local shop that can custom fit a piece of leather around my shifter for me.

I think your talkin about the complete shifter assy... Which is $200...But the lever itself is not $200... Part # 5L3Z7213AA doesnt even have a price yet??? Check it on DOESII..... Last time I checked it didnt have a price, and that was yesterday! As for pics of the Lincoln shifter, check my gallery... And the post that I just did with the pics...

Nah, I don't want just the lever, at least I don't think. If the bezel and whatnot doesn't match up with the rest of the interior, then maybe the lever would do, but I was thinking about replacing the whole shifter assembly, 5210 I think it?

Man...i'm starting to think a good upholstery shop could duplicate that thing (what someone said earlier). I just don't see replacing the whole shifter if it's the exact same thing. $$$ The only thing different here is the leather ****.
