05 STX 4x4 - shift on the fly?

I havent even picked my new stx up yet, it has the old 4x4 shifter on the hump. Can it be shifted into 4 high while moving or do I have to come to a stop first? Thanks, Ken

Yes, you can shift on the fly into 4HI.

It works really well. You only move the lever about an inch or so to engage. I don't know why one would pay extra for a button.

I don't know either. You can't even tow one of those electric equiped ones behind another vehicle.

With a Lariat, you can only get the **** on the dash. No place on the floor for a shifter, that big console gets in the way!
