Magnaflow $$$

I went today ordering a Magnaflow Exhaust. 1 into 2 from the
local muffler shop and he talked me into a true duel (2 muff) that he would make for $500 with SS tips out the back. And he said that the polished mufflers will look like crap in 6 mounth. So why pay for the polish?

True...I guess. But then again anything under the truck is gonna look like crap after a while. And really who cares, nobody's gonna crawl under there and look anyway, right? Plus the Magnaflow can be had for around $383 right to your door.

its totally up to you (obviously) but I think im gonna stick with a cat back kit SI/DO. Ive heard to much back and forth about loss of backpressure with true duals, which in turn creates problems with power and torque or whatever. BUT..I have also heard that some guys have done it and have no problems at all. Personally I think for me, the Magnaflow SI/DO kit is gonna be the way to go.

RP..I was doing some research here today and found a link to a site that has it. Its listed for $479.00 with free shipping, but theres an online discount code that takes another $100 off of that price. I havent checked to see if the code is still good, but someone else did just a few days ago and they got the discount. I think the 05' is a little more $$ than the 04' system, but the 04' system is right at $383.00 shipped.
www.hottexhaust.com and the code is: wideopen2zg13

Let me know if you get it and if the code still works.

Would the single side out sound about the same as a straight dual rear exit system?

I ask only because I think I want to go with a side exit... just me and my opinion but, I like the look of a side exit a little better.

yeh, but i doubt the guy at the shop is gonna use stainless steel. Which is how it comes from magnaflow. I always go with the engineering of a bolt on vs. shadetree shop work. Plus I like working on my onw stuff.

You could probably do it for less than $383 Rock, due to the fact that the single out retails for less than the dual out. Make sure it fits the 05s though...Kevin

Just went to hottexaust web site. The part # for 05 f150 3" si/so side exit system is 16612. The price was $367 after entering the coupon

On the web sit I can't find a kit for dual exhaust that exit out the side of the truck. I need that because of my "shell" . I have a dog in the back a lot and can't have the fumes coming back in.

I had a magnaflow polished 18" Si/So welded into the stock stainless pipe and a year later the muffler looks great. I just wipe it off when done washing and it still shines like new. I also had them throw on a Magnaflow SS tip. All for $200. The shop had to add a piece of pipe to the back of the mufler to connect it all up but they used SS so the pipe looks great as well. If you want a Si/So this will save you a few $$$ for other mods.

Rock...prior to ordering my Magnaflow #15834 dual system from hottexhaust for $383.88 delivered, I looked at Corsa and some others. The 1st thing I noted about Corsa is their price...Big $$. Then I did a search for comments...only found a few...not too many Corsa installs. One comment was that Corsa was quieter on a Corvette that Flowmasters on the '04 F150.

Also, re: your question about sound of SIDO duals v. SIDO or SISO side exits, Magnaflow makes all three systems (ahead and behind rear wheel) and all use the same 5X8X18 oval muffler, so I would expect all systems sound similar (ignoring acoustics of exit location).

Thanks Curmungeon! That is kind of what I expected and anticipated but, I wanted to hear it from someone else without me saying it...

Thanks again!
