FYI I've taken loads of concrete to the dump the last three days. Empty weight, almost empty gas tank and me @185lbs, was right at 6000 lbs. Me and almost full tank of gas 6100 lbs.
The truck seemed much happier with 1000 lbs than with 1250lbs in the bed. Might have been my imagination though.

The difference between "almost empty" and "almost full" is approx. 16 gallons of gasoline.

100# divided by 6.2 (unleaded reg.) = 16 lbs. (rounded).

Sheesh...I have too much time on my hands.
