Garages

What's your garage height? We're build a new house and my truck MUST fit into this garage (I'm tired of cleaning off snow)! The builder says the garage header is 7' high. Is this enough for my 2004 F150 Screw Lariat?

Thanks

I believe somebody measured a stock 4X4 Screw and it came to about 6'3". That's about right. I know my truck can fit as long as clearance is at least 6'4".

7' high sounds good as long as the garage door is mounted too low. Also forget about leveliing or lifting.

Just my input.

The clearance from the floor to my garage header is 6 foot, 6 inches. My XLT Supercrew fits, but the antenna hits it on the way in and out. One of these days I am going to replace it with a shorter one. You should be good with 7 feet of clearance.

Mine is 6' 6" and my antenna fits. I have an 04 screw make sure the garage length is greater than 223" or the truck wont fit.

my garage header is 7 feet, and the door raises to about 6' 10". Plenty of room, but my antenna hits, too. I need to paint the opening now.

My new truck will get a shorter antenna PDQ.

I'm 6'10" and can see over the truck. Your fine w/ a 7' header. I'd tell the builder make it 8-9' just in case you decide to lift it.

7' header, 10' cealing.

I have to many other goodies in my 2 car garage and my truck is stuck outside in the cold.

Hopefully I will be getting a 40x40 for some additional inside parking soon.

Thanks for the info guys. I'd really feel more comfortable with the header at 7' 6" or 8'. Of course all these little changes add up to $$$ but it will be worth it to park in a garage for a change.

The garage should have a 25' wide opening and 20' depth so I should be ok there.

Seeing that my garage height sits at 7', I have problems with the antenna scrapping everytime.

Can anyone suggest a shorter, chrome & quality built antenna to use?

I would go with the 8' if I was to be building a home. I have the daystar with 325/60/18 nitto's and when going in and out of the garage my sirius antenna almost hits the opening (trucks antenna hits bad) only about an inch if that of clearance. If you never plan to lift it or put bigger tires on you should be fine with 7'.

It fits. I have about 6'10". My 4x4 fits...

The antenna would hit until I popped the ball off of it, chopped off about an inch and a half and re-epoxied the ball back on.

Absolutely NO difference in reception and you absolutely cannot tell that it was shortend.

20 deep will be tight.

My garage is 48x24 (really about 22 due to house steps) with doors on both ends and the effie takes up a good chunk of that. Ill try to get a pic to show you.

I will have to measure my garage, but I test drove a F150 screw with a 6 inch procomp kit /w 20 in procomp wheel and tire package. installed by the dealer... (should have seen the markup ) Anyway, with my wife on a stool at the front of the garage, I put right in... about 2 inches of clearance, the antenna took a little bending, but the truck itself fit right in..
