Retrax is on (w/pics)

Thanks to all those who gave information and advice on selecting a cover and helping with pricing. Once again, F150online members came through!

My retrax came in today, I paid $864 total with tailgate gasket and lock cover. Only problem was the lock cover was not in the box but I'm sure that will be taken care of with a phone call. Install was easy, directions were very clear. Me and the wife were able to lift it into place. Trust me, that's a big plus, we usually end up arguing when something needs lifting. Anyway, I took about an hour and a half to do the install. Didn't really need that long but I wanted to take my time and make sure everything was right. There are more pics in the gallery. Let me know if anyone wants a specific pic or needs installation info.

That's really cool. With the reflection it looks like your bed is filled with water

Looks great! I had the same problem with my lock cover. Check out your receipt it probably says it is on backorder. Mine was and I received it about 2 months later.

I've always wanted to do the "bed -> hot-tub" mod. With cup holders on the side for my beer of course. How awesome would that be when tailgating (after the game/race).

Nice pics of your Retrax.

Mine arrives tomorrow. Can't wait. Bummed out at the price I paid though - - $912 for F-150 screw with gate gasket (and that's with free shipping).

How difficult was it to lift the whole assembly into the bed?

Any difficulty getting the 1/8" gap all around? Did everything fit OK?

It will be nice to put my tools in the bed of the truck. Never leave home without 'em.

My truck won't fit in the garage, so the cover is going to get a good test on rainwater leakage.

They said it should have been installed before shipping and that they put one in the mail today. How hard are they to install?

Easy to lift, and I have a 4x4, no problem with me and the wife lifting it.

No problems with the gap or anything, it fits perfect and was very easy to install.

Very Easy, maybe 10 minutes. Just pop the lock off, slide the cover on the lock and put the lock/cover back on. You will have to adjust the "tension" of the lock since the cover adds more space. You'll know what I'm talking about. It comes with directions. Good luck.
