Anyone Here Also Own An Old-Bodystyle 150?

I've posted in two other threads and no one has responded. I need the following Heritage-style SuperCrew bed dimensions.

Between the bed rails behind the cab window
Between the bed rails at the tailgate
Length from top of tailgate to top front wall of bed

I have found a tonneau for the older body style and I need to see if it is large enough to be able to be cut down and resewn to fit my '05 SuperCrew (it's for a KR).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greg,
They didn't make Heritage Supercrews. The 03 and before Supercrews had the same body style as the Heritage. I can't help you, but maybe if you reword the post and put it up in the Supercrew forum, you might get a response. Hope this helps...Kevin

IMO, you cut no corners in buying the top of the line King Ranch model, just spend the bucks on the right tonneau for your truck instead of cutting corners by jerry-rigging an older tonneau to put on it...

Easy to say Steve, but no one makes an Arizona Beige KR tonneau for the new body. This is a KR cover that's new, it's just for the older style body. So buying it and having it recut and sewn to fit will probably cost me more than a generic cover, but I want it to match my truck.

So, do you have the dimensions I need, or were you just offering your advice?

Having had a 2001 KR and now a 2005 KR, I can say with utmost confidence that the box deminsions are very different. Further, the angles that are within each individual box are very different. In short, even if you were to get the KR Tonneau that is on ebay cut down (or added on to), the mounting hardware would still be different.

Your best bet is to contact someone about making you what you want.

The KR Tonneau was ONLY made in 2000 by a company called BestTop out of Denver. I had one of these covers (bought from a fellow KR enthusiast) and it was nice but, without question, won't fit my 05'. I've since sold it though...

Well, that's the kind of info I ws looking for. I was hoping that because the older bed seems to have thinner rails at the top, that it would allow enough the be made to fit.

I've exhausted my resources on finding anything that even comes close to matching the AB color in a soft cover. You'd think that with all the KR's and Lariats out there with that accent color, that Ford (or someone) would realize the potential.

OK, enough of my whining. Thanks for the constructive input.

I know you said soft cover but why not get an Undercover and have it painted to match. Easy to remove and store.

I left mine black but I chose it because I use the bed of my truck too much to do work and wanted a removable hard top.

Any type of rigid cover is out for me. I need to be able to remove and store the cover when away from home to haul bulky items.

Can't make one if you can't find the correct color. That's the problem I'm having. Nothing that I have found (and I've tried every resource that I've been able to locate) even comes close to the Arizona Beige or the Dark Copper colors on my truck.

Rock Pick, that's EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks!
